Inclusive Leadership Pledge
About the Pledge
The West Midlands Combined Authority is committed to ensuring that all citizens benefit from the opportunities being created in the region and are enabled to develop and achieve leadership aspirations. The Inclusive Leadership Pledge can help to make this happen.
Launched in partnership with business, the Pledge asks senior leaders to commit to promoting diversity and embedding inclusion within their organisation:
“We pledge to embed inclusivity in our organisation’s ethos and culture, so that every employee has a fair opportunity in recruitment, promotion and progression. We pledge that under-represented groups will be actively supported so that we can collectively make a difference to the leadership of the West Midlands.”
The Pledge consists of an overarching commitment to inclusion (the statement above) and asks for signatories to commit to three actions. Designed for employers, the Pledge is deliberately flexible so that it can be tailored to the specific priorities and challenges of each organisation. The Pledge can be signed by senior leaders and on behalf of entire organisations.
Our aim is to build a movement for inclusive leadership: spreading the message of why diversity and inclusion matters, sharing success stories and supporting change.
